Days 15-16 (Friday-Saturday) Homer Spit
After dropping off our rental van, we boarded the Kennicott ferry. We mostly had a rainy nine-hour trip with some sunny breaks. After docking in Homer, we saw many seagulls with their babies and eagles while walking to our resort.
The Lands End Resort was located on the very tip of the Homer Spit. We had an ocean view out our very small deck. Since it is the only hotel on the Spit, it is a very popular place to stay.
We were able to rent another van to tour Homer. Wine tasting at the Bear Creek Winery was enjoyed by all. We stopped at a Farmer's Market hoping to have halibut tacos, but that booth wasn't present on this Saturday. The rest of the day was spent shopping along the boardwalk shops on the Spit or hanging out at the Salty Dog Saloon.
